How many DVDs do you have in your entertainment center? 20? 50? 100? In today’s world of Netflix and Hulu, it’s unlikely that you even use those DVDs very often—they’re just taking up space. However, it can be hard to part with your movie collection.
So don’t.
Your whole music collection is digital, so why not make your video collection digital too? Some retail stores are now offering the service, but if you’re more of a do-it-yourselfer, the folks at LifeHacker put together a step-by-step guide to digitizing your DVD collection.
Once you’ve digitized your collection, you can get rid of all those DVDs—freeing up space in your home. But don’t just throw them out! First, check our DVD section to see which DVDs you can sell to us for cash. For example, if you’re Fan of The Wire, we offer $20 for the series. Own The Godfather trilogy? We’ll pay $13. Any of your DVDs that we don’t accept you can easily donate to a local organization like Goodwill or the Salvation Army.
This weekend’s your chance—purge your DVD collection and you might even make some money while doing it!
Have you digitized your DVD collection? Have any tips to share?
